Linda! We are going to have SUCH an amazing time opening the doors to our wildest hearts' possibilities. My vision board is done too, sits right above my puja, and holds such potency for me.
YES
LOVE!

I can attest to the power of this magic. I just closed on a home last month, something I never thought possible but had envisioned last New Year's Eve. Only thing is, it is not magic. It sets your mind in the right direction, bringing to the surface what it is you want for the year, giving it form, getting it out in the world and planting the thought that it is possible, it will happen. This is the first step for accomplishing all things seemingly impossible. Envision your magic, it can become reality.

The key is not the 12-step AA mantra of "I am powerless over ..." etc. The key is to be disciplined and to know that, if you have it in you, it will pass, if you want it to, if you summon your real strength and, yes, "power". I had an eating disorder - probably the only straight guy I know who ever had a fucking eating disorder (statistically, it hits mostly women and gay men) - and I binged and fucked up a lot. Eventually, if it's in you, it passes. Don't get me wrong - you can do this and you have the power. But like some addictions, some people don't conquer it. Don't get caught up in posturing and making declarative statements - like any good things, humility, patience, a sense of humor, discipline, and integrity are all keys. Moment to moment in the beginning - and allow yourself to fuck up. As much as you need - eventually you can make it go away.

Linda has always been known for her strength and commitment. If you have an eating disorder, and it's serious, don't delay in getting support and structure to feel better and begin to enjoy and respect food again - it will revolutionize your life and contribute to your happiness. But don't neglect it, as it can cause all kinds of permanent damage - liver, kidney, thyroid, heart, etc. Karen Carpenter died at a young age, tragically - and it still makes me cry when I hear the song "Superstar" that she sang - still. You can stop doing heroin, stop smoking cigarettes, stop smoking weed, etc. But you CANNOT stop eating. You can eat with love and self-respect, though. xxx ooo

Holy Shit. Thank you. Thank you for the crazy rigorous and gut wrenching honesty. This was the EXACT thing I needed to read today. I can relate to all of it. My addiction with food is an ugly one and it has been a long ass ride. I, too, have tried it all...always looking for why and getting all lost and swirled up in the many possible answers. And it kinda doesn't matter so much. What I really want is to be present. To not be "in the food" right now. Two things totally stuck out...1-that nothing will ever hit the spot, there is never enough of anything...yuck. Amazing how I forget this so damn often. and 2- the word SURRENDER
Please, Linda, keep writing
